Diet & Stress
There are many ways that our diet can affect the health of our hair – ensure to enrich yours with Vitamin B to encourage growth. However, be cautious of your intake even if you feel the supplement is only beneficial, as too much Vitamin A can lead to hair loss.

Telogen Effluvium

Physical & Emotional Stress (death of a family member, surgery, illness, trauma, an accident, etc.) can also contribute to hair loss. The human body has a fascinating mechanism to prevent the unrequired growth of hair or any other bodily function that doesn’t aid survival. In most cases, there is a 3-month delay in suffering hair loss from the moment of trauma. There may be a further 3-6 month delay before the hair growth returns to normal, as this is the general duration period of a healthy hair follicle’s cycle.

Underlying health issues such as a low blood count, anaemia or abnormal thyroid function, can also contribute to hair loss. All of which, through taking a blood test, can be checked by a health professional. Once the levels of telogen effluvium have returned to normal, hair growth should also follow.
