Recovery can take up to 2 weeks, but most of our clients can heal in 7 days. During this time, the newly transplanted follicles can make the scalp area feel tight and might possibly ache - this can be made more comfortable with over the counter painkillers such as paracetamol after the course of antibiotics has been finished. You may also experience scabbing over of the areas where the hair has been transplanted - please do not try and pick at these as they will need time to fall off on their own to aid a healthy recovery. Our surgeons will show you how to wash these away if they persist after two weeks.
You may also experience something called 'Shock Loss' - which is a perfectly healthy and normal part of the recovery period. There will also be an amount of shedding present as the new hair grows and the life cycle of the newly implanted follicles begins to settle. Do not be alarmed, this is a good sign that the transferred follicles are settling and adjusting to their new placement.
